QuTech had the pleasure of hosting a seminar at Adelaide University exploring the Quantum Technology Ecosystem in the Czech Republic.

The special Seminar was hosted by Professor Glenn Solomon.

The session opened with an overview from Petr Kavalir, Special Envoy for Quantum Technologies in the Office of the Czech Prime Minister, who shared valuable insights into the Czech Republic’s national strategy, priorities, and growing capabilities in quantum technologies.

🔹Seminar 1
Dr Martin Friak (Institute of Physics of Materials, Brno, Czech Academy of Sciences) spoke on Quantum for Materials, outlining the promise of hybrid quantum-centric approaches for materials discovery and their potential impact on medicine, energy, and sustainable technologies.

🔹 Seminar 2
Prof. Tomáš Novotný (Charles University Prague) presented Generation of Autonomous Quantum Resources by Dissipative Quantum Systems, offering a fascinating perspective on how dissipative quantum systems—traditionally viewed as detrimental—can be harnessed to autonomously generate coherence and entanglement.

It was an engaging and insightful discussion, strengthening connections between the Australian and Czech quantum research communities.

A special thank you to Milan Vágner for organising the visit.Â
