We’re thrilled to share that Associate Professor Jacquiline Romero, Deputy Director at QuTech, is chairing the UNESCO International Basic Sciences Programme (IBSP) Scientific Advisory Board for 2025–2027.

Jacq brings her deep expertise in quantum technologies to a global stage, where she will help shape inclusive, ethical, and impactful scientific policy and collaboration across regions.

The IBSP plays a vital role in strengthening national capacities in basic sciences and promoting international cooperation by:
– Promoting inclusive definitions of scientific excellence 🌐
– Advancing research integrity and ethical standards 🧪
– Supporting equitable access to scientific infrastructure ⚛️

Her appointment comes at a pivotal time, as 2025 marks the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, with UNESCO leading global efforts to ensure quantum innovation benefits all.
